Thriftwood Open Evening

Members of the CTSA were given a unique opportunity to view the school and talk to the Senior Leadership Team as part of our Joint CPD week. Headteacher Georgina Pryke and her team proudly exhibited all that this successful school has to offer.

Our visit started with an informative and thought provoking talk on the mechanics of the school and the process for admission followed by a full tour of the school including the lovely forest school garden, the art studio, complete with papier mache penguins, and the impressive sensory rooms. We were able to ask questions and discuss the strategies they use for interventions and behaviour management and were particularly impressed by the ‘working independently’ approach they adopt.

It is clear that this is a well-planned environment that allows children with specific needs to thrive. The warmth and understanding from Georgina and the SLT is testament to why Thriftwood School is successful in providing very effectively for its young people.
