Working together to be better together  – school-based practice sharing twilights

The vision: at least once a year each school in the CTSA will deliver a twilight CPD session from their existing school improvement priorities, and each school will enable every teacher to self-select a CPD session to attend that is most relevant to their individual professional needs at that point in their learning journey.

To date, 2 Joint CPD weeks have taken place – one in November 2017 and the other in February 2018.

Topics covered in sessions hosted and delivered by individual schools have included:

Philosophy for Children, PE and Sport, Internet Safety, Story Scribing (Foundation Stage), Shared Writing, Single Plan implementation, Growth Mindset, RE; Poetry Writing, Inspiring Reading in KS2, Creativity in the Curriculum, Science, Subject Leadership, Critical Thinking and Questioning, Raising Attainment and Tracking progress, Oracy Across the Curriculum and Phonics.

Evaluations have been very positive and there are plans to continue with and expand this approach to collaborative professional development, maximising the impact of effective practice across the Alliance.
